Watch A Maxima Get Dragged Down The Highway By A Semi Truck

maxima semi wedge big

Here’s our quiz question for today: How did the truck driver in this video not notice he had a mid-sized sedan wedged under his back bumper?

To our eyes, the only way this could have happened was that the Maxima’s driver cut too close to the truck when pulling out to pass, struck the trailer’s wheel with the front corner of the car and got reeled in like a 1,500-kg metal fish.

We don’t doubt the truck driver may not have felt the impact, but we have a hard time believing he wouldn’t have suspected something was wrong based on the cloud of white smoke pouring from the general area of the back of his rig, not to mention the stream of drivers honking horns as they drove past.

The post accompanying this Facebook video says the incident occurred on Interstate 15, which starts in California, near the Mexican border, and then ends at the Canadian border with Montana. The car bears California plates, so based on that and the envy-inducing sunny weather, it’s a safe bet this happened closer to I-15’s southern end.

Check out the video and tell us what you think.

As a child, Chris spent much of his time playing with toy cars in his parents’ basement; when his mother would tell him to go play outside, he made car sounds while riding his bicycle or dug roads for his toys in the flower garden. Now he gets to indulge his obsession playing with real cars that make their own cool noises, and gets paid for it.

he drug him for 4 miles….does he not look in his mirror? Far as i’m concerned…this truck driver shouldn’t be on the roads…there could have been children in that car.

  • Barry A Moulds

Great deduction about the location … but you think there ain’t no sunshine in Montana ?!

  • Ashley Green

Really, tho. How could he not see the car in his mirror?

  • Paul Gloor

Indeed… how could a seasoned driver, as he appeared to be, not realise something was dragging either ?!?

  • Funkasaurasrex

Heres a stick of gum and an Archie Comic, Go take a nap and you’ll be fine. Maybe.

  • Shelley Bellanger

    Dont cars have horns?

  • Glen Gebert

First. I’m not defending the truck driver. Yes cars have horns. No, the truck driver would not have heard the horn from that far back. Trucks are a LOT louder than cars from the inside. He can hear the horns of the cars beside him though, BUT probably ignored them since as a truck driver he gets honked at, gestured at yelled at all day long. All he had to do was look in his mirror. He would have SEEN what was happening if he bothered to look.

  • Glen Gebert

He wouldn’t have felt anything dragging, the car weighs nearly nothing compared to the truck. It’s about the same as a car dragging a kids bicycle. He should have seen it though. He also should have at least had a sense that something was wrong by the way the cars around him were acting. That’s usually the time you start looking in your mirrors to find out what you’re not seeing that everyone else is. When you get a flat tire on a truck you can’t see it, but you know something is wrong by how the cars around you are behaving.

  • Michael Hawkins

It is on Chino pass near Cajon, Ca. north of Los Angeles…truck is based out of Grimway Farms from Bakersfield…

  • Stella Arbuckle

He has mirrors, he is supposed to use them!

  • Glen Gebert

    Absolutely!

  • Philip Chen

How would the truck driver NEVER look at his side-mirror & rear-mirror during the entire trip ?

  • Don Mccrory

to say he would not have felt anything is a huge understatement i myself have 25 years driving exp i can tell when one wheel is locked up on trailer he surely knew the car was there more then likely seen it to

  • Maroxa Mawson

I would love to see how that happened? Glad no one was hurt!

  • Doug B

All I see is someone who doesn’t know how to hold their phone correctly when taking a video.

  • David Esho

ALL MOTORISTS DRIVING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION WOULD HAVE HINTED THE DRIVER OF THE INCIDENCE INCLUDING THOSE DRIVING IN THE SAME DIRECTION WHO WILL HAVE CATCH UP TO HIM AND SIGNAL. WHY HE IGNORED ANY OTHER MOTORISTS INTERVENTION CAN BE BETTER ANSWERED BY POLICE OFFICER WHO WROTE THE INCIDENCE REPORT.

  • Anti
