The new 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat has been making serious noise in the horsepower wars, its 707 horsepower stomping on the Ford Shelby GT500 and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. However, the Challenger has long been the best of the muscle cars for a long road trip or a noisy cruise, especially with the SRT team’s hot-rod 6.4L Hemi V8.
After a half-century of pony-car power, making a new Mustang is a tall order for Ford. They’ve got to keep the diehard fans happy, woo new customers, build and expand the brand, introduce new technology, keep the old-school flavour of the car, and showcase the whole shebang to an expectant world. No pressure.
