Arguably one of the two most famous cars in TV history, the Batmobile was a modified version of a 1955 one-off concept car called the Lincoln Futura. Given a distinctive glossy paint job with cherry-red stripes – oh, and a rocket thruster on the back – it became a legend in its own time, and its popularity remains undiminished 40 years later.
